Surprise! March is nearly here, and that means it is time for our
monthly KWLUG meeting. On the agenda for this month are presentations
about presentations, and presentations about homelab misadventures.

Megan McDermott will tell us about Marp, the Markdown-based
presentation system. There are lots of text-based presentation
packages for nerds, but Marp also makes it easy to style your
presentation to make them look more trendy. (Eagle-eyed KWLUG members
might remember that Megan was scheduled to present a few months ago,
but had to defer. This is that rescheduled presentation.)

Also up is first-time presenter Christopher Thompson, who will share
some (mis)adventures in his homelab environment. You will hear stories
about filesharing gone wrong, about copious documentation of hardware
failures, and of the joys and sorrows of using NextCloud to replace
OneDrive.

In other news, KWLUG member Matteo Golin is looking to start up an
Apache Local Community chapter to hold meetings and promote projects
run by the Apache Software Foundation. In order for him to set up a
local chapter he has to find some potential members, including at
least one Apache Project Management Committee member, and at least one
Apache Software Foundation member. If you or somebody you know are
interested in participating in this group, please get in touch with
Matteo directly at matteo.golin at gmail.com .

Another set of events of note are the annual Capstone Engineering
project demonstrations happening through March at the University of
Waterloo. If you are interested in attending some, head to
https://uwaterloo.ca/capstone-design/ for a complete schedule.

We at KWLUG will also be having a dinner-only meetup in March. It is
scheduled for Wednesday March 18 at J&B restaurant. You can RSVP to
dinner at kwlug.org to attend, and get more information at
https://kwlug.org/node/1474 .

As usual, our meeting will be held both online and in-person, starting
at 7pm. Join us online at https://webconference.kwlug.org/room/kwlug,
or in-person at DC 1568 at the Davis Centre library at the University
of Waterloo.
