[kwlug-announce] Meeting Monday, 7pm: LLM Stack, PrivacySafe (Aug 2026)

Well, it's August, which means it is time for heat, vacations, and
self-hosted LLMs. Christopher Thompson will share his "LLM Stack" --
the collection of tools he uses to self-host open-weight LLMs in his
homelab. In addition Christopher will share a case study of how he set
up an agentic AI build that is safe for his kids to use. 

Our second presentation will be the leisurely annual tour of
PrivacySafe, courtesy of its primary developer Mikalai Birukou. In
addition to giving us a tour of the software platform and its
components, Mikalai will tell us about setting up PrivacySafe
Foundation to help further privacy education and keep the 3NWeb
protocols sustainable. 

Our restaurant meetup this month will be at the Huether Hotel in
uptown Waterloo. It is scheduled for Monday, August 24. RSVP to

Elsewhere in the community, Waterloo Tech Week is gearing up for the
second week in September, from Sept 12 to 17. KWLUG will be
participating, and there are many other events planned. You can check

CivicTechWR will be holding its end of season showcase on August 26.
