[kwlug-disc] what is the probable cause of mail downloading being painfully slow?

If DNS is the issue, then switch to the free DNS servers at Level 3.

Add this to the /etc/resolv.conf file:


# Level 3 DNS servers
nameserver 4.2.2.5
nameserver 4.2.2.6

Before the Rogers ones.

If nothing else, it will eliminate DNS as a cause.
