I still think they are trying to steer reality rather than chase it. 
Reality is pulling one direction (adoption of Linux) and Microsoft is 
dragging it's heels, kicking and screaming.

Arguably they are the only major browser, database, and office suite 
vendor that does not offer a Linux version of those products and have been 
for years now.
