If you are contributing to the project. If your repository is private, as I

be in Paul's case, then you can use whatever you are comfortable with and

for you.

Drupal uses CVS, but most shops have their own repo. Most are SVN, since it
is
for their clients, few are bzr and share their branches publicly.
