and yet, microsoft has made a living out of being nothing more than
"good enough." not spectacular, not great, just good enough. and
people will grit their teeth and put up with the crashes, and the data
corruption, and the upgrade hassles, and everything else, for no other
reason than, for all those years, as long as they put in the effort,
MS products have been "good enough."
but, curiously, open source software has been perpetually denigrated
as not being superbly perfect. it might have flaws, it might be
missing a feature or two, and so on. it's an amusing double standard,
is it not?
