[kwlug-disc] Configuring a WinTV-HVR-1600

So, swap it. Hope the next card is better for you.
From what John has said in the past, there are several revs. Perhaps
you'll get lucky and your web research will have told you the
preferred rev. Perhaps when you swap they'll have a bunch, and you'll
luck out and find a particular rev.
Ultimately, you will want / need the ir blaster. And a remote control.
e.g. mute. Keep an eye out for one of the MS remotes (with blasters).
I expect Rogers will start phasing out analog on or before Sept. 1,
2011. The only in-store reasonably priced remotes, let alone blasters,
I've seen are these. Logitech prices are just silly. Firefly and one
other I can't remember are a bit more esoteric. Let alone the blaster
parts. You know the day is coming ... two shows on at the same time ...
If you're content to stay under windows, check out http://gbpvr.com/.
