Actually that 7 is a circular reference. The most likely outcome is that after calling Microsoft they will guide you through doing 1 - 6 again, even if you swear you already did it.

Finally they'll suggest 7 again but will provide a different phone number (for which they'll charge a premium rate) and the cycle starts again.
