[kwlug-disc] what would look good in a 1-day linux kernel course?

since my brain is starting to shut down from thinking about this too
long, i'm going to throw out the question -- what do you think would
be appropriate in a 1-day course in what you might call "the care and
feeding of the linux kernel?"
i'm reworking an outline for the linux foundation, and i want to
model a 1-day kernel course on the book "linux kernel in a nutshell",
that you can read online here:
http://kroah.com/lkn/
notice from the topics that this is *not* a book on kernel programming
-- it's a book on working with the kernel source, configuring,
building, installing, modules, etc. i have an old outline here:
http://crashcourse.ca/node/14
that i'm updating. it's already easily a day's worth of content if
it's done hands-on, but i'm trying to cram as much as i can in there.
are there any topics that folks think absolutely deserve to be in that
one day beyond what's already listed, without starting to cross over
into a different course topic?
like i said, i've been reworking this to the point where i'm just
getting fuzzy and might be missing some appropriate topics. thanks.
