[kwlug-disc] Updating linux, problems with video driver

Mandriva 2009 DVD and internet installs/upgrades are choking on my video 
card.  How would I go about installing or upgrading by either dvd or 
internet, telling the install process to ignore or do something with my 
video card, then do a manual install of the card driver later?  (I know 
linux works on the machine, Mandriva 2008 installed and works perfectly).
