[kwlug-disc] ubuntu 9.04 and broadcom wireless -- out of the box?

That's never a guarantee.

My webcam had worked forever until some kernel upgrade (I don't know which one dropped the ball) but It hasn't been working since.

My dad's laptop was working great with a wireless dongle while he was here, when he got back to Mexico he accepted an upgrade and now USB does not work. Well, some devices work some others do not.

My Intel display used to work great, after upgrading Ubuntu performance was dismal, I was able to improve it substantially by reverting but it's still not the same.

In all my years with Linux I hadn't experienced so many things going backwards, it used to be the other way around.

So, now I'm convinced, that the investment disclaimer applies here "past success is no guarantee of future performance"
