[kwlug-disc] thanks to all who replied -- the new netbook was purchased

  took the lady in question out on saturday to future shop -- not
being a geek, she immediately gravitated towards the netbook that
appealed to her aesthetically, the bright red one:

  perfectly respectable, 1G RAM, 160G HD, windows xp home, and it was
the only one like that left so she took the demo off the shelf and got
a 15% demo discount.  all in all, success, and i immediately loaded it
up with openoffice.

  personally, i don't think i'd get another system without HDMI
anymore, but that's just me.
