Actually Daniel I'm more than open to having people come into The
Working Centre's Computer Recycling and do this, but I'd also be happy
to work in conjunction with whatever hackerspace gets set up.
We often give our recycler parts that could be used in hackerspace
projects (as Rob Day can attest to). We recycle lots of useful parts
(LEDs, serial connections) just to make space for desktop systems and
parts Computer Recycling needs.
One of the things we've been missing is people who are willing to sort
through these parts (as Leigh said in her presentation).
In a related note, I'm uploading the video for Leigh's presentation as
I write this. It's a big file (over 800MB for the full quality ogg
file), but archive.org creates smaller files. It probably won't be
complete for another 3 hours or so, but if people are interested in
seeing the video from Ontario Linux Fest I'd recommend trying to
search for Leigh Honeywell after 8pm this evening on archive.org. I
might also have links on the Ontario Linux Fest web site/facebook
page.

Leigh told me there is a space in Kitchener and I remember the post,
initial buy in was something like 500 bucks initial payment and
$50-$100/month. It seemed a bit expensive especially considering we
have quite a few resources here...
Cheers,
Charles
