Couple of browser manufacturers have created an open font format for the 
web.  Seems the intent is to create open alternatives to proprietary 
fonts used on the web. Not something most of us have to worry about I 
guess, but interesting in the sense that it's taking something currently 
closed and opening it up.  And that's liable to lead to interesting 
opportunities.
