So it does not boot, but is is accessible if you boot from something else?

If you are able to boot and can run:

fdisk /dev/sdX

And see partitions, then you can wipe it using:

dd if=/dev/urandom of=/dev/sdX

That overwrites everything on the drive with random data, and is as safe as
you can do it without physically destroying the drive.

If the drive is not accessible, the above does not apply of course.
