Maybe you already tried that, maybe it will not work, but still worth
mentioning:

Have you tried Google Documents?

Go to http://docs.google.com, sign up for an account if you do not have
a Google account, then upload the file there.

See if you can open it.

If it does, you can then try saving it as either Open Office, or directly
to PDF.
