If you value your time at $0.00.
Are there other areas in your home or life where for the same time,
energy, learning curve, and cost, you would get a greater payback?
Even if you value your time at $0.00 [e.g. taking the dog, child, or wife,
for a walk gets your exercise, a happier dog, and time 'pleasantly' spent,
what's that worth to you?]
Or to try and put it another way, there is an opportunity cost to the
effort you propose that should be factored in, to more accurately evaluate
cost and measure payback time. [Let alone the moving target syndrome - the
PIII might have broken down between now and then and it's functionality be
enhanced or combined with something else as technology, needs, and current
thinking evolve.]
