Do I need to uninstall and reinstall phpmyadmin? how?

Answer: Yes.
Another tutorial (but only the section to remove phpmyadmin):
http://tuxtweaks.com/2010/01/how-to-uninstall-lamp-in-ubuntu-9-10-karmic-koala/

Reinstall following the original tutorial (but only the section
installing phpmyadmin):
http://tuxtweaks.com/2010/04/installing-lamp-on-ubuntu-10-04-lucid-lynx/
This time *read* and *follow *the part where it says:

<Quote>
*This is important! *Use the space bar on your keyboard to select
*apache2.* Make sure there's a *** next to *apache2* like the picture
below and then hit *<Enter>*.
</Quote>

The first time around it appeared that apache2 was selected when it was not.

Status: LAMP installed: L:Ok (doh!); A:Ok; M:to follow; P[php]:Ok; toss
in Phpmyadmin: ok.
Future P's: include Perl and Python

Next steps:
FTP Server (Filezilla?)
FTP Upload of website to Linux box w/Lamp using Filezilla (or other)
Yes, I know I could use a USB drive or CD to do transfer the data but I
want the FTP mechanism in place and tested.

Soon:
MySQL

suggestions welcome
