Position: Senior Linux Systems Administrator
Job Description: Looking for a self-starter who can provide the technology
leadership to help move the organization to the next level.
On behalf of our Client, Procom KW is in search of a Senior Linux Systems
Administrator for a permanent opportunity with an exciting Client.
You will be responsible for maintaining the Company’s computing and
information technology environment by identifying business requirements;
planning and installing upgrades; monitoring system performance; and
driving improvements to configuration management.
Your experience with highly available 24/7 networks, the automated
deployment of Operations systems, and configuration mangement tools will
help you stream line our existing processes in order to continue providing
excellence to Clients that they have come to expect.
Mandatory Skills:
-6+ years of Linux Systems Administration (preferably with Ubuntu)
-Excellent knowledge of networking protocols
-Experience with firewalls, routing, NAT
-Scripting skills: perl / sh / bash
-Prior experience with monitoring tools such as: Nagios, Zenoss, OSSEC,
Webmin
-B asic IP telephony knowledge, preferably experience with Asterisk systems
-Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
Nice To Have Skills:
-ITIL, COBIT and ISO experience
-Experience with configuration management tools like Puppet or CFEngine
-Experience with virtualization tools (e.g. VMWare)
-Experience supporting Windows and MAC clients in a Unix environment
-Experience managing hardware and software inventories
-Disaster recovery planning and testing
-B.S. in Computer Science or similar experience
Location: Cambridge
Duration: Permanent
Rate: Negotiable, based on experience
