[kwlug-disc] Ubuntu 11.10

This has become a flamewar. Could a new thread be started please.

It has further strayed from being about Ubuntu 11.10 to KDE vs Gnome.

There are entrenched users here who will not consider anything but 
Mandriva, whatever the form.

There are alternate entrenched users who will not consider Mandriva, 
whatever the form.

Each to his own.

I will make 2 comments:

The jump to Gnome, along with all the other changes, may be too large 
for one go. Using Kubuntu instead of Ubuntu may be useful.

It was pointed out here some time ago  that newer versions of K/Ubuntu 
aren't working as well on older hardware as prior versions use to.


If you don't mind, I would appreciate it if new thread(s) were started.
