Basically the service works by trading your disk space with others.  So 
you get byte-for-byte "unlimited" storage distributed across multiple 
machines for a small administrative fee.

I haven't personally used it but, short of setting up another NAS with 
rsync at another location, it looks like a pretty good idea.
