Yes, I meant the Xen, vs Openstack....Although openstack is vendor agnostic 
(it supports, xen, vmware, openstack).

I've setup openstack before earlier this year in a lab environment, and the 
interfaces are very similar to amazon's ec2 which is where I sometimes get 
confused.

perhaps you mean Xen (hypervisor) instead of OpenStack ? AFAIK Amazon 
doesn't use OpenStack, the impression I have is that Rackspace is the only 
big VPS provider that uses it (they pretty much developed it), and it looks 
more as a work in progress than a mature technology, I may be wrong.
