[kwlug-disc] What are people using to write HTML with?

I confess that I have a Pi, but it's collecting dust. I keep meaning to
hook it up and learn its secrets, but just too damn busy these days!
Does anyone know if there's a way to hook it up to a monitor with only a
VGA port? I think my Pi has HDMI, which I don't have on my desk at this
time.
