[kwlug-disc] Offline/offsite archival data storage

My solution in a nutshell:

Vantec Nextar eSATA dock + 3TB WD green disk.

Buy a pair of drives, do your backup, and take the disk to a drawer where
you work, or leave with a friend/relative.

I use the dump tool for daily level 1 dumps, and weekly level 0 (full)
dumps.

eSATA is faster than USB, and does not tax the CPU while backup is being
done. Green drives spin down when not in use, so use less power and emit
less heat.
