I'm wary of green drives. Over the last year I've seen the loss of two
green Seagates within four months of each other on a two-year-old
system, and two green Western Digitals on two other systems. Completely
dead. Recognized as block devices, but no data transfer at all. I have
woeful tales of data loss and inadequate backups. I'll bet the data is
still intact on the platters, but there's no (cheap) way of getting it off.

Lesson learned: Use black drives and some kind of drive redundancy.
Storage is cheaper than data recovery.
