Totally agree. I still have boxes of the old blocks in my basement. 
However, you
know what, technology has also beaten Lego. Today, you can build your 
own
blocks with 3D-printers. And all of that totally legal (obviously, you 
cannot
call it Lego though).

Freedom for the Lego blocks !!!! ;-)
