[kwlug-disc] UPS sized battery purchasing locally?

THANK YOU LIST! Your input has led me to a local solution (i.e. no
shipping charges and could put the beasties in my hand to have a
look/see, first).

Including - for my tower ups, what would have been $132 + shipping from
ncix, so even more elsewhere (no mention at CanadaComputer.com), solved
for $25 x 2, so more than $80 + shipping / brokerage saved because of
you all, thank you so much. And for $10 more ($5x2) went from 7A to 9A
for longer run time.

Summary: Well worth replacing UPS batteries, via local shops. Excellent
people, good knowledge. Helpful. Significant savings, let alone over
replacing entire unit. It's power, doesn't change much, either it has
sufficient charge, or doesn't and usb connection tells things to shut down.

On my smaller units $25 for 3.4A battery sure beats replacing for $60
(3.6A).

Dremelled out a couple of guides within the case, and alternate battery
fits like a glove. i.e. Extra guides were in place for the OEM
physically smaller battery, within a larger designated square area - the
dimensions of which exactly match the one I acquired. Sadly, went from a
3.6A to a 3.3A battery, but better than replacing entire unit. And since
these are to power cordless phone base and separately router / switch /
ata, I can live with the .2/.3A loss.

I expect the slightly larger CyberPower units will be much the same, but
probably have a more popular battery more easily replaced, below.
Probably without need for dremel, too. (Guessing.)

interstate - Worthy suggestion. Worthy to visit. No joy. (No product,
let alone stock, for me.)

Dearborn plaza (Batteries Expert) - which I had thought of, but didn't
expect they would have anything in this area. Thank you list! Boy was I
wrong. Solution found. Very helpful young guy at the counter this time.

Battery Wholesale - didn't know about, thank you list! Also have a
solution, and like Dearborn above, but slightly cheaper, solved the UPS
tower battery problem.

sayal - can see from web site they would have had what I needed. Didn't
need to go out there - problem solved above.

Metafore - didn't get to.

Thank you list, again!
