Psst. My former coworker Devin has a dummy Mattermost install that he
says we can use if we want. I doubt we will be able to test gateways
thoroughly but we can see basic functionality.
I am happy to share invites. I do not know how I feel about putting an
invite list on the mailing list, so contact me offlist if you want
one.
There are a bunch of other Slack alternatives too, but I don't know
what rules and what drools.

Does anybody know?
I still don't get the appeal of Slack, but I can think of ways that
such a tool might be useful in our organization. So I am interested in
learning a little bit about the FLOSS alternatives.
