As a Wind customer, I see this as only good news. Shaw should be able to provide the resources that Wind needs to expand its network - I'll be getting more coverage eventually which is fantastic (currently limited to KW and the GTA since I refuse to pay for "roaming").

Plus LTE by 2017 isn't bad at all! 3G speeds are more than fine for my usage (mainly text content anyway), but it's always nice to have faster options.

With the expanded network though, I wonder if this will change Wind's business strategy. Currently they peg you with hefty fines if you use your phone outside of a major city, which is presumably why the plans are so cheap. Will Shaw's promise to keep the business as it is hold out, or will they cave to high prices for basic services à la every other major Canadian carrier? Oh Canadian telecom...
