I switched to Acanac mid-January. I noticed then that Vmedia had stopped
being the cheapest, in favour of Acanac. [Let alone Zazeen/Acanac have
real PVR (local storage), vs Vmedia cloud PVR. If you think you might
ever do TV that way.]
$50/month (12 months at a time), 1st three months $20. For 30/5, 350Mb.
Prior Rogers had 60 then 80GB cap, which I almost never went over.
You'll be hard pressed to exceed such caps. Unless you have them pesky
teenagers, like Khalid.
I can see where one might want more than 10/15 down (2 streams + voip),
just in case, but personally much more than that really isn't going to
buy you much - the web won't feed you that fast (other side / content
sender). That's not exactly true, but there is a point where things are
sufficiently fast, and is more really going to buy you anything useful.
YMMV.
With Rogers scaremongering and killing analogue TV (CTV News channel now
shows Aquarium channel), I suppose I'll have more traffic, but probably
not more than 350GB, regularly, 4+ - 6- more than I had.
At least Acanac gives you a VPN.
More worrisome ... when you're shopping ... keep an eye on the up speed.
I got in at 30/5, but I see now that they're advertising 30/3 instead.
Their 30/5/unlimited is also $60.
[They also have a lot of freebies, see
http://acanac.ca/Login-Section.html if you care. I didn't see such at
the other providers. Not advocating Acanac, just sayin' / pointing out.
I can say my switch was seamless, and support has been very good. Would
do it again.]

Same with Teksavvy. My Cable 18up/0.5down (400GB) is now $45. Still
cheaper than other options, but it getting ridiculous when telecom is
more expensive than water. Pretty soon, I have to make decision to
either drink/shower or surf web!
