[kwlug-disc] Home Automation with Raspberry Pi

During last night's presentation, I mentioned home automation, which could
use a Raspberry Pi as a low power device.
The protocols that are in vogue these days are Z-Wave, and Zigby.
Z-Wave has low power consumption, and relay from the far nodes to the other
end of the mesh network, so makes the topology easier. There are hundreds
of devices that support Z-Wave. It is proprietary however, with the
board/adapter to add it behaving like it is a separate computer.
The software that powers home automation is called OpenHAB
