Hi everyone: I just leaned about StarCon, a "software engineering
conference", taking place on Sat-Sun, 6-7 January 2018 at the
University of Waterloo.  Their Call For Papers closes on Friday, 15
September 2017.

StarCon is particularly looking for first-time speakers, members of
under-represented groups in technology, and anyone who's been hesitant
to speak at other conferences.

Unusually, they're paying their accepted speakers $70, breakfast and
lunch for both days, and free access to the conference and events.
