Right, Chamunks, if we want encrypted DNS query and our ISP doesn't provide
that, we have to use one that does. That's the concern on secure
communication.
Another concern is on data collection, right? We need to be sure the DNS
provider doesn't collect our data the way we don't want to. My point is I
don't know if CloudFlare is good enough. I don't know if my ISP is good
enough either, but since I'm already using its Internet service, it always
knows which IP addresses I'm accessing although I'm not telling it my DNS
queries. It just provides it one less vector like you said, but is not
changing a lot. And it creates a new problem which is should we trust the
new free service provider on this?
