Regarding home multi function printers/scanners.
We all know that HP has the best support on Linux, because of the hplip
package.
For several years, I had an HP OfficeJet that I got per a recommendation of
someone
who worked for a technology store and the math was that its ink was on par
with laser,
so not high cost of consumables.
For scanning, it had a feeder and is able to scan both sides of a page or a
stack of
pages, and can also print on both sides.
Then, I found that the newly opened Costco, which is like a 5 minute drive,
fills ink
cartridges, but not for the model I owned. I got another printer (HP
OfficeJet Pro 6978)
which Costco can fill (HP 902 and 902XL). That worked well for a year or
so. It was
smaller and faster than the older model, but had a smaller screen (minor
annoyance).
Same features as above re: scanning and printing.
Then suddenly, Costco said they cannot fill it anymore. They even say so on
their
web site, and say 'temporarily'. Someone I know is guessing that it is
pressure from
Costco on HP or something like that.

Here are the questions:
- Any other printer/scanner brands that work well with Linux (Epson,
Brother)?
- Any of those have easy to refill cartridges at a low cost?
I don't want a laser printer since I need to print in colour occasionally.
All ideas/advice welcome.
