[kwlug-disc] Blurb for the Arduino Presentation

I'm looking forward to this presentation. I bought myself an arduino kit a few months ago, but other than browsing some of the docs, I'm still at a loss at where to start to actually make anything neat/useful. While I can probably figure out the code, very little of my experience translates to physical electrical systems (and starting from zero means you don't know where to start looking).

My intended project was motion/sensor triggered LED strips on the underside of stair runners, to illuminate a dark stairwell on demand without blinding you in the middle of the night. So "control simple lights" is a literally a perfect start.
