I would consider that an interesting rant/presentation too. :-)

It could even be grouped into a larger presentation on how to automate
news processing using Free Software tools, to avoid overwhelm.

i.e. there's a balance between the 3 axis points of "don't miss anything",
"get rid of the crap", and "avoid interruptions" which software may be
able to help with.
