Personally, I have no interest in re-joining social media of any kind after
going cold Turkey
six or more years ago.

However, this discussion about content that maybe illegal or objectionable
to some relates
to previous discussions here on Twitter and Musk.

Basically, it started with the September That Never Ended (when AOL opened
Usenet to
its users), followed by spam on Usenet and emails, ending up with social
media companies
having to deal with the inevitable objectionable content.

The social media companies are private entities and want to make money.
That money comes
from advertisers. If there is too much objectionable content, they will
cease to advertise. It is
like "no shirt, no shoes, no service". This gets entangled into free
speech, and that is why this
whole Twitter saga is unfolding ...

Maybe I will write an article on that on my blog on this, so as not to go
on tangents here.

Regardless, it is the tragedy of the commons of sorts. I have even seen
this in comments on
my web sites with spam, scams, vulnerability probing, and so on ...
