Absolutely terrifying to imagine the position that your vision is
basically routed through the health of a single corporation.
Karen Sandler, of Software Freedom Conservancy, talked about a similar
concern with her pacemaker a decade ago and her efforts to access its
source code:

Which again is absolutely terrifying! You could have a device that can
shock your heart, saving your life, but only a single corporation really
knows now it works. And everyone else is specifically disallowed from
understanding it.
Terrifying.
