Did you ever hear back from Robert Bowerman?

I also think that there should be a Waterloo Region Mastadon instance, 
but I also kind of want my own instance with my own domain, too. (i.e., 
andrewsullivancant.ca)

But I don't want to be entirely responsible for running it. :) What I 
wonder was how hard it would be to run something like wrmstdn.ca, but 
also run multi-hosting other domains on the same resources?

Would anyone else want their own domain?

I also wonder if any local orgs will ever setup their own instances on 
their own domains. Reporters, politicians, and civil servants seem like 
obvious candidates to be "verified" by being on their respective domains.

(P.S.: I have had similar thoughts about other services. Things that 
would be useful for KWLUG and that I would like on my own domain. Things 
like:
* mastadon
* gitlab
* peertube
* pixelfeed
* matrix
* email (but this is already handled by others, and is kind of
   terrifying)

I wonder how much it would cost to run a WaterlooRegion version of these 
services, and offer individual domains too.

Might be somewhat similar to the way that our BBB instance is already 
being used by others.
)
