This is both unsurprising and disturbing (and not the first time it's 
happened and been in the news):

I feel bad for average, non-technical customers who may have data they 
consider private and need to take their hardware in for repair.

Maybe now I'll be a little more willing to fix it myself next time 
someone I know has issues.
