[kwlug-disc] These 2 DataTravelers are not like the other...

This afternoon I was working with a couple of identical-looking
Kingston DataTraveler 3.0 USB drives. One of the drives "felt" a lot
faster when I was using it. So I ran the benchmark you can run using
Gnome Disks (Disks) and sure enough it thumped the other
identical-looking Data Traveler:

243.3 MB/s vs 109.9 MB/s

The second speed was roughly the speed I got for several other USB 3 keys.

lsusb -vvv shows both drives identify as:

ID 0951:1666 Kingston Technology DataTraveler 100 G3/G4/SE9 G2/50 Kyson

Gnome Disks also shows both as Kingston DataTraveler 3.0, though the
faster one had (0001) and the slower one had (0000).

lsusb -vvv also revealed a slight difference in one particular area:
Max Power. The faster key had a max power of 296mA, and the slower key
144mA.

A neat little oddity for the day...
