The only recent criticism that I can find is that Andy Yen, the CEO of Proton, is politically a conservative. He prefers the U.S. Republican party to the Democratic party. He believes that today's Republicans are more likely than Democrats to take on the abuses of Big Tech. He thinks the Democrats are in the pocket of big tech. Yen is a privacy activist who is very concerned about surveillance capitalism and the power wielded by big tech companies.
On X, he said “10 years ago, Republicans were the party of big business and Dems stood for the little guys, but today the tables have completely turned.”
On Reddit, he said “Until corporate Dems are thrown out, the reality is that Republicans remain more likely to tackle Big Tech abuses.”

A big idea in today's conservative movement is that society is dominated by entrenchedd abusive power structures that exist in government, big tech, and the international order, and that conservative parties are the ones most motivated to tackle these abuses.
I dunno if this is the "bad thing", but I couldn't find anything else.
Doug.
