Agreed.

Turns out, there was some convoluted path I had to traverse to set my 
region to Canada / Canadian dollars, then I could sign up and set 
country of residence and phone prefix.

The $6.50 is probably the $CAD vs $4.95 USD, so... same-same.


Still a bit baffled about having to set a region before signing up.


If anyone has an OVH referral code (or promo code), I'll apply it when I 
do finally sign up for a VPS so you get some credit.
