Long time lurker also.

I used to use Bear on iOS, which was nice but heavily coupled to Apple’s ecosystem. (Didn’t have control of where files were stored).

I switched about 2 years ago to Typora, which is quite nice and simple. It’s also markdown forward, and has a “render” mode that shows the formatting of the markdown as it’s parsed. No cloud storage built in, but since it allows you to open folders, it’s a worthy companion for work and personal, since I can point is to the cloud folder of my choice.
