Yes, the Firefox (Gecko) and Chromium (Blink) engines, and thus all Web
browsers based on them, dropped in 2021 the code for ftp client-side
support.

Er, well, also see if the FireFTP extension is still available for, and
functional in, current Firefox versions.  Unfortunately, I see
indications that Mozilla, Inc. _probably_ killed compatibility (probably
when they killed XUL), but that you could make a lateral move to
Waterfox and still be able to use that extension.

Personally, I have come around to the view that Firefox is a problem.
