The Cudy web site has a page
<https://www.cudy.com/en-ca/blogs/faq/openwrt-software-download> that says
many of their models
support OpenWRT. From there, a link goes to a Google Drive
<https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1BKVarlwlNxf7uJUtRhuMGUqeCa5KpMnj>
document
<https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1BKVarlwlNxf7uJUtRhuMGUqeCa5KpMnj>
that has all the firmware as .zip files.

On the OpenWRT firmware selector <https://firmware-selector.openwrt.org/>,
if you enter a supported
model (w.g. WR3000S or H), they will list Sysupgrade version
only. No Factory Install images, because the routers already
come with a version of OpenWRT.

The install procedure <https://openwrt.org/toh/cudy/wr3000s_v1> for these
routers says: install the
Cudy OpenWRT image first, then install a sysupgrade
from OpenWRT.

Cudy is not the only company doing this. There are several
Shenzhen based companies, for example GL.iNet, ...etc.

The SoC version that has WiFi6 and good OpenWRT support is
MediaTek/filogic.
