1. each model of Bell box may be different.

2. the box they gave me (GigaHub 4000, if I remember correctly), you do 
   PPPoE through the yellow ethernet socket

3. I didn't have to specify VLAN number, but some recipes require it.

4. the other ethernet ports and the WiFi continue to work, behind NAT, 
   with a different global IP address

5. Many consumer routers are slower than line speed when processing PPPoE.  
   My Routers are PCs and can handle line speed.

The Teksavvy modem is different.  Teksavvy has a helpful page about 
setting it up.
