[kwlug-disc] Interesting Tool -- pv

Uh, I love that one. It can read files and sockets directly, not just
stdin.

Basically,
pv ./disk.img | dd of=/dev/sdb1
pv ./JGR9_09_26_15.1.rfu.fmw | nc arkanoid-plotter 9100
tar zcf - folder | pv -o folder.tgz

This injects progress indicator into any long file-based operation.
