After a calm and uneventful January, how about some cozy DIY projects
to get through the shortest and most miserable month? This month's
KWLUG meeting features a couple of projects sure to inspire delight.

Last November Khalid Baheyeldin showed us how he uses Home Assistant
to monitor indoor conditions like temperature, humidity and VOCs. This
months he takes things outside, showing us how to integrate weather
information from sensors to monitor precipitation, lightning strikes
and thunderstorm events.

Have you ever used a Live CD or Live USB and wished that there was
just one more tool available to make your ephemeral computing needs
more pleasant? Spencer Hughes will show us how to remaster Live CD
distributions to do just that.

The next restaurant meetup is scheduled for Monday, Feb 17, but we do
not have a venue yet. Stay tuned.

In other news: although this is not directly FLOSS, the local Fan Expo
TriCON may be of interest to some. It is being held at THEMUSEUM in
Kitchener on Feb 15-16. Tickets are $25. More info here: https://themuseum.ca/tricon/

That's all I got for this month. Our meeting will be held in hybrid
format, online at https://webconference.kwlug.org/room/kwlug and
in-person at LIB 329 at the University of Waterloo. All are welcome.
See the website for more information.
