<div dir="ltr">I personally ditched my computer speakers and exclusively use headphones now on PC.<br>I have one of these as my DAC/Amp that connects to my PC over USB, and I can connect in a microphone and whatever headphones I want to use:<br><a href="https://www.schiit.com/products/gunnr" target="_blank">https://www.schiit.com/products/gunnr</a><br><br>If you want to stay with computer speakers, it's going to depend on your motherboard connectors. <br>Most older motherboards would have an optical connector 5.1 DTS, but that requires a separate sound controller to connect the speakers and subwoofers.<br>If you want a sub, it would need to have the 3.5mm aux to connect directly to your motherboard, or be able to connect to an Amp/DAC controller.<br><br>The old Sound Blaster cards had a connector for digital coax, or 3.5mm connectors - which can vary based on motherboard:<div>Connectors: <a href="https://forums.tomshardware.com/threads/what-audio-jacks-are-which.3098416/" target="_blank">https://forums.tomshardware.com/threads/what-audio-jacks-are-which.3098416/</a><br><div><br>Sticking with basic computer speakers, anything used that's in good condition and a known brand would probably be fine.
